Advent Day 22 - JOY

"The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad." (Psalm 118:24 NIV)

Today we begin the dive into the theme of joy in the Advent Season. What do you think of when you hear the word joy? Happiness, excitement, good feelings? While all of these things can fall under the category of joy we are going to look at the Biblical definition of joy:

Joy is an attitude God’s people adopt, not because of their circumstances, but because of their hope in God's love and his Promise. (The Bible Project)

We have joy not because of what's happening in our finances, our country, our health, or anything else. We have joy because God in His great love sent his son to earth to reconcile people to himself and provide everlasting life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross!

Let us wait with great expectancy and excitement this Christmas season as the Lord has sent Christ to the world, providing us with an everlasting source of true, meaningful joy.

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.”
